Local Information
Haworth (7 miles)
A short drive over the moor is Haworth, once home to the Bronte family.  Haworth has retained much of it's original village character with it's steep, cobbled main street, lined with tea rooms and gift shops and offering a distinctive 19th century feel.

The Parsonage where the family lived has been preserved and converted into a museum, but it is the surrounding countryside that inspired much of the Bronte Sisters work, here you can explore some the locations featured in the texts and walk in their footsteps to places such as Top Withens, (widely accepted as the setting for the house in Wuthering Heights)

Skipton
'
Gateway to the Dales' is a small but busy market town with cobbled streets and a 900 year old castle. With markets being held up to four times a week and Craven Court, a Victorian Style shopping centre, Skipton is a great place to shop.
Close to Skipton is the Embsay Steam Railway, special events throughout the year include Thomas the Tank Engine Days and occassional 1940's weekends, trains run on Sundays and during the week in summer to connect to the Bolton Abbey Estate, 30,000 acres of beautiful Yorkshire Dales Countryside.
