On the doorstep

There are numerous local walks. A leisurely stroll along the riverside brings you to Ball Grove Lake and Nature Reserve or you can follow the footpath across the fields to Wycoller Country Park, a tranquil and picturesque hamlet with tea room and award winning information centre. For the more energetic there's the Pendle Way, encompassing the famous 'Witch Country around Pendle Hill, or the Brontë Way which incorporates many of the places featured in the novels of the Bronte sisters as well as the village of Haworth where they lived.

Should you prefer pedal power there are several cycle routes in and around the area giving you the opportunity to 'get on your bike' and explore the ever changing landscape.
